Attempts to collect debt not owed: Debt collection
This complaint involves two fraudulent accounts that are the result of identity theft. 1. Santander Consumer USA auto loan in the amount of approximately $5100.00. This account was previously removed from my credit reports after an identity theft dispute, then later reinserted approximately six months later without my authorization. I filed an identity theft report and submitted documentation to Santander after they requested additional information. It has been about one month and the account is still being reported. 2. U.S. Bank charge-off in the amount of approximately $730.00. This account is also not mine. I previously disputed this account directly with the company and requested validation, including proof I opened or authorized the account. The company did not provide documentation proving I am responsible for this debt, yet the account continues to be reported. I am requesting a full investigation of both accounts as identity theft, removal or blocking of the fraudulent accounts from my credit reports, and copies of any documents used to verify that I am responsible for these accounts.
