Communication tactics: Debt collection

I answered the phone and a lady answered I asked who she was she said Monterey financial, she wanted to talk about a payment arrangement I asked to send the information in writing she said she can't do that and they they have sent information to email I asked did I give permission she said they don't need to I asked about in writing and was told only email I'm not doing anything unless it's in writing.
