False statements or representation: Debt collection

I sent a debt validation request regarding this collection account and specifically requested documentation proving that I am legally responsible for the debt. I requested copies of any signed contracts, applications, account statements, payment history, and documentation showing the collection agency has the legal authority to collect and report the debt. The collection agency responded that the account was verified but did not provide the requested documents. Without proper validation, I am unable to determine the accuracy of the debt being reported.
