Getting a credit card: Credit card

Citibank has denied my applications for a personal loan on numerous occasions and recently a credit card using the same erroneous information claiming that I made late payments on a previous Citibank card. I only have and have only ever had one Citibank AAdvantage card and I have never once made a late payment. I am disputing their information that I had a previous Citibank card where late payments were made. There is no record of a previous Citibank card on any of my credit reports that had late payments. They have no right denying my applications under false circumstances.
