Managing an account: Checking or savings account
I am filing a complaint against USAA regarding the restriction they have placed on my checking account after I disputed several unauthorized transactions. Without prior warning or a meaningful explanation, USAA restricted my checking account and blocked my access to all of my funds. As a result, I am unable to pay my bills, purchase necessities, or access my own money for daily living expenses. This has created a significant financial hardship and is directly interfering with my livelihood. I have contacted USAAs customer service multiple times seeking an explanation and resolution. Each time, I am told that my case has been forwarded for review and that someone will contact me within 48 hours. However, no one has contacted me, and customer service representatives are unable to provide any additional information regarding the reason for the restriction, the status of the review, or when I can expect my account to be restored. USAA has already taken several security measures to verify my identity and secure my account. They ordered me a new debit card, required me to change my online banking password, and confirmed my login activity and account access. Despite completing these security measures, they continue to restrict my access to my checking account without providing any explanation as to why my funds remain inaccessible. While I understand that financial institutions have fraud prevention procedures, completely restricting a consumers access to all of their funds without timely communication, transparency, or a reasonable resolution process is unacceptable. I disputed transactions in good faith, and I should not be deprived of access to my own money indefinitely without clear justification or a timeline for resolution.
