Managing an account: Checking or savings account
I am filing a complaint regarding an extended hold placed on a check deposit in the amount of $3800.00 at TD Bank. My account is well established with TD Bank, with a long history of deposits and no overdrafts or negative account activity. Despite this, the bank has placed a hold on my deposited funds without providing a clear or specific justification. Under Regulation CC ( 12 CFR Part 229 ), banks are generally required to follow standard funds availability rules, including next-business-day availability for a portion of deposited funds and full availability within standard timeframes unless a valid exception applies under 12 CFR 229.13. In my case, TD Bank has not provided : * A specific and documented reason for the hold * The exact exception category being applied under Regulation CC * A clear and confirmed date when the funds will be fully available Given my account history and lack of risk factors, I believe this hold is excessive and not properly justified under Regulation CC guidelines. I am requesting : 1. Immediate review of the deposit hold 2. Written explanation of the legal and factual basis for the hold 3. Confirmation of the exact release date 4. Release of any funds that are eligible for partial availability under Regulation CC
