Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem: Credit reporting or other personal consumer reports
I am formally disputing several inaccuracies currently appearing on my credit report, specifically unauthorized and inaccurate accounts and credit inquiries that I did not initiate or approve. These entries represent a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, particularly 15 U.S. Code 1681i, which requires a proper reinvestigation of disputed items, must allow at least 21 days between the statement date and the payment due and 1681e ( b ), which mandates that information reported must be accurate to the maximum extent possible. In addition, I am disputing a potentially misreported late payment. According to 15 U.S.C. 1666b, creditors date before classifying a payment as late. Based on my records, this standard may not have been met, or the payment was submitted on time and inaccurately reported as delinquent.
