Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem: Vehicle loan or lease
I am submitting this follow-up complaint because Credit Acceptance Corporation did not respond to the substantive issues raised in my original CFPB complaint. In my original complaint, I requested documentation supporting the accuracy of information being furnished to the consumer reporting agencies, including the reported balance, payment history, date of first delinquency, account status, and verification procedures. I also requested documentation supporting the electronic signature process, payment ledger, account accounting, and the basis for continued reporting after Credit Acceptance voluntarily dismissed litigation relating to this account. Instead of addressing those issues, Credit Acceptance informed the CFPB that there may be potential fraud involved and indicated that it could not respond through the CFPB process. The response did not identify what type of fraud was suspected, did not explain the factual basis for that statement, and did not answer the documentation requests contained in my complaint. As a result, the specific questions raised in my complaint remain unanswered.
