Repossession: Vehicle loan or lease
I am filing this complaint regarding a vehicle that I voluntarily surrendered after it became inoperable. The vehicle developed serious mechanical and electrical problems, so I took it to a repair shop for diagnosis. The repair shop attempted to perform diagnostic testing, but they were unable to complete the tests because the vehicle would not communicate with their equipment. According to the repair report, the vehicle may have been struck by lightning or suffered significant electrical damage. Because the vehicle was no longer operable and the cost of repairs appeared to be substantial, I made the difficult decision to voluntarily surrender the vehicle to the lender. Despite these circumstances, I am still being held responsible for the remaining balance after the vehicle was surrendered. I am requesting that the company review my account, the repair report, and all of the circumstances surrounding the voluntary surrender. I can provide copies of the repair shop 's documentation and any other supporting records that show the condition of the vehicle at the time it was surrendered. I also request a detailed accounting of how the remaining balance was calculated, including the sale price of the vehicle, how the sale proceeds were applied to my loan, and an itemized breakdown of any fees, interest, or other charges that were added after the vehicle was surrendered. I respectfully request a written response explaining the outcome of the investigation and any actions taken regarding my account.
