Struggling to pay your bill: Credit card
For approximately five months, I have contacted Apple Card customer service on multiple occasions seeking assistance with my account. My current balance is approximately $3800.00. I have repeatedly requested a long-term hardship payment plan or other structured repayment program that would reduce my interest rate and allow me to repay my balance in full over time. I am not asking for my debt to be forgiven. I want to pay what I owe, but the nearly 30 % interest rate makes it increasingly difficult to make meaningful progress on the balance. During previous calls, after I was told I did not qualify for a hardship program, I was instructed to wait until the end of the month, not make a payment, and call back because my eligibility might change. I followed those instructions on multiple occasions, only to be told again that I still did not qualify for any long-term hardship or payment assistance program. During my most recent call, I was offered only a one-time month without interest charges. While I appreciate the offer, it does not address the long-term problem or provide a sustainable repayment solution. I made every effort to seek help before my financial situation became worse. Rather than waiting until I defaulted, I proactively contacted Apple Card multiple times seeking assistance and followed the guidance I was given by customer service representatives. Despite doing so, I was unable to obtain any meaningful hardship assistance. I am requesting that Goldman Sachs, the issuer of the Apple Card, review my account for a genuine hardship or structured repayment program, including a reduced interest rate or other reasonable accommodation that will allow me to repay my balance in full.
