Struggling to repay your loan: Student loan
I am filing a complaint against MOHELA regarding the servicing of my federal student loans. My student loans are currently in forbearance ; however, interest continues to accrue on my account. Based on my understanding of the applicable relief and repayment programs, I am concerned that the interest being charged may not be accurate and I have been unable to obtain a clear explanation from MOHELA regarding the continued interest accumulation. In addition, I am enrolled in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ) program and have submitted employment certification forms through my employer on two separate occasions. My employer has completed and verified my qualifying employment, but MOHELA has failed to properly update my account. As a result, my PSLF qualifying payment and employment information does not accurately reflect my eligibility and progress toward loan forgiveness. I have made multiple attempts to resolve these issues directly with MOHELA, but my account remains inaccurate. Furthermore, the balance being reported by MOHELA to the credit reporting agencies appears to be higher than my actual loan balance. This inaccurate reporting may be negatively impacting my credit profile and financial standing
