Unexpected or other fees: Money transfer, virtual currency, or money service
I am filing this complaint because I have been unable to obtain a resolution from Venmo despite spending several weeks attempting to resolve the issue through customer service. The dispute concerns a $900.00 transaction that Venmo claims I owe. Based on my bank records, I did not receive $1800.00. I only received $900.00 one time. The issue began when I accidentally selected the " Cash Out '' option while attempting to deposit my paycheck. Realizing the mistake immediately, I contacted Venmo customer service for assistance. The Venmo representative I spoke with instructed me to contact my bank and stop payment. I followed the instructions provided by Venmo 's representative in good faith. The first $900.00 transaction was immediately returned and never became available to me as funds that I could use. My bank statement clearly shows that the transaction was returned. As a result, I only received one $900.00 payment, not two. Despite providing explanations and supporting documentation, including my bank statement, I continue to be told that I owe $900.00. I have spent countless hours on phone calls, chats, and online communications attempting to correct what appears to be a misunderstanding of the transaction history. I am requesting that Venmo conduct a complete review of the transaction records and my bank documentation. Specifically, I request : Removal of the alleged $900.00 debt from my account. Written confirmation that my account reflects the correct transaction history. Written explanation of how Venmo calculated that I owe $900.00 despite the returned transaction shown on my bank records. Confirmation that no collection activity, negative reporting, or further account restrictions will occur regarding this disputed amount. I have attached supporting documentation, including my bank statement, which demonstrates that the initial $900.00 transaction was returned and that I only received $900.00 once. I respectfully request a thorough review by a higher-level resolution team, as repeated contacts with standard customer service have not resolved this matter.
