Closing an account: Checking or savings account
Truist Bank closed my checking account after informing me that it was being closed due to suspected fraud. At the time the account was closed, the remaining balance was over $1000.00. I was informed that my remaining funds would be returned by mailed check. However, I urgently need access to these funds, and waiting for a check in the mail creates a significant financial hardship. I contacted Truist to ask whether the check had already been mailed and requested that, if it had not, my funds be returned through a faster method, such as an ACH transfer to another bank account, a wire transfer, overnight delivery of the check, or a cashier 's check available for pickup at a branch. I also offered to provide any documentation or identity verification necessary to facilitate the release of my funds. I understand the bank 's responsibility to investigate suspected fraud and have expressed my willingness to cooperate fully. My complaint is not about the bank 's decision to close the account but about obtaining the prompt return of my remaining funds through the fastest available lawful method. I am requesting that Truist review my case, advise me whether the refund check has already been mailed, and, if it has not, provide my remaining funds through an expedited method if possible.
