Managing an account: Checking or savings account

I was doing my homework and I have a bank account with Truist Bank. I realized that I had gotten a notification stating that somebody added a trusted device onto my account. Next thing I know I got another notification saying they deposited three fraudulent checks. I called the fraud department and reported it immediately. They froze my account. My check came in on Friday and Monday and they told me I could pick it up at the bank but when I went to go pick it up at the bank, they told me my account was still frozen then they told me they were gon na send me a check by the time I got the check. It was 15 days later, which was yesterday when I went to take it to the bank to have it cash they told me those checks had already been cashed and I didnt cash them. I took them straight from from the mailbox to the bank
