Managing an account: Checking or savings account
I am filing this complaint because Cash App has refused to allow me to access the funds in my minor daughters sponsored Cash App account, despite me being the approved sponsor and legal parent. I contacted Cash App multiple times requesting assistance with transferring the money from my daughters sponsored account. After numerous calls and emails, I received a response from a Cash App Support Manager stating that they were unable to grant access to this account for security reasons and that they can not override this decision. Cash App has not explained : Why access has been denied. What specific security concern exists. What policy or provision of their Terms of Service prevents me, as the sponsor of the account, from accessing or recovering the funds. What steps I can take to resolve the issue. Instead, I have repeatedly been instructed to continue calling support, only to receive the same denial without any path toward resolution. As the sponsor of my daughters account, I believe it is unreasonable for Cash App to withhold access to funds without providing a meaningful explanation or a process to recover the money. This has caused unnecessary stress and has left money effectively inaccessible. I am requesting that Cash App : 1. Restore my ability to access and transfer the funds from my daughters sponsored account. 2. If access can not be restored, issue a check or other method of returning all funds remaining in the account. 3. Provide a written explanation identifying the specific policy or legal basis for denying me access as the sponsor. 4. Explain the appeal process, if one exists. I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with Cash App in good faith over multiple contacts, including speaking with supervisors and corresponding with a Cash App Support Manager, but they have refused to resolve the issue. I respectfully request the CFPBs assistance in obtaining access to the funds or requiring Cash App to provide a lawful explanation for withholding them.
