Problem with a lender or other company charging your account: Checking or savings account

Complaint Against Navy Federal Credit Union I am filing this complaint regarding Navy Federal Credit Union 's handling of my fraud claim involving $3600.00. I was the victim of a sophisticated phone impersonation scam. I received a call that appeared to come from Navy Federal 's legitimate phone number. The caller identified themselves as a Navy Federal representative and convinced me that my account was compromised. Believing I was speaking with my financial institution, I followed the instructions I was given in an effort to protect my account. As soon as I realized I had been deceived, I immediately contacted Navy Federal and reported the fraud. I fully cooperated with their investigation and provided all requested information. Navy Federal denied my claim, stating that I " authorized and/or participated in the activity. '' While I physically initiated the transactions, I only did so because I was intentionally deceived by criminals impersonating Navy Federal. I did not willingly send money to a scammer, nor did I intend to authorize fraudulent transactions for the benefit of a criminal.
